Meet Our Team Member: Piercen Harnish

By

There are many reasons you probably chose your career. Maybe it was the excitement of future opportunities, the salary, or the flexibility. For me, my reason was simple: I wanted a career where I could have a significant impact on people’s lives while using my passions and skills. From a young age, I saw that money, and how you handle it, can make or break your life. That’s why I decided to spend my days helping others discover financial freedom and feel empowered to make the right financial decisions for their lives.

Getting Started

With this goal in mind, I earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Saint Francis. While in school, I not only had the memorable opportunity to play football and win back-to-back National Championships (and even be a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, otherwise known as the “Academic Heisman”), but I also had the privilege of interning at Shelton Financial Group (SFG) and getting my feet wet in the industry.

When I graduated, I worked for Ash Brokerage, getting hands-on experience in the insurance and annuity world and learning how to best serve clients and meet their financial needs. I eventually returned to SFG, this time as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

My Career Today

Now I get to do what I dreamed of—walk others through the process of taking back their life and pursuing financial independence. Through the years I’ve seen how much good financial freedom produces. It allows people to lead a work-optional lifestyle and start giving back to their communities through their passion and knowledge, ultimately making our world a better place! My job is to help them structure their finances to make that happen.

I serve as a financial strategist for high-income emerging investors, pre-retirees, and retirees, providing dynamic financial planning solutions that work through their challenges, opportunities, and dreams so we can design a plan that acts as a road map to their ideal future. I am also a part of SFG’s Investment Advisory Team, analyzing newly developed investment models and products to determine if they would be a good fit for our clients.

My Dream Job

This career is exactly what I hoped it would be. There’s just nothing like watching clients experience that lightbulb moment—when their plan is laid out in front of them and they realize that reaching their goals isn’t far away. I get up every day motivated to do my best because there’s always someone out there that needs help to succeed, and I want to play that role for as many people as possible.
