Jeff is the President of Shelton Financial Group Inc., an independent, locally owned retirement planning and asset management firm. In addition to his firm management responsibilities, Jeff serves in a Financial Advisor role for his clients. He focuses on wealth management and retirement planning issues. Jeff has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Al came to Shelton Financial Group after a successful career with General Electric Company in Operations Management and Financial Analysis. He began his career with GE after graduating from Wheaton College with a B.A. in Economics (1977). While at GE, he completed an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University (1985). Al is also a graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program (FMP).
A passion for personal financial planning lead Al to earn his CFP® designation in 2010. He also is Series 7 and 66 registered through USA Financial Securities. Al is licensed for Life, Accident and Health Insurance as well as Long Term Care. His desire is to help clients pursue their goals and objectives.
Outside of work, Al has been involved in Junior Achievement as an instructor, Fort Wayne Community School’s Study Connection, and community projects such as Paint-a-thon and United Way Day of Caring. He also served on the board of Chandler’s Landing neighborhood association, and is a member of Brookside Church. Al enjoys tennis, gardening, reading and spending time with his family. Al resides in Fort Wayne with his wife Jan.
Brian is a Financial Advisor for Shelton Financial Group. Brian’s quest to be an Investment Advisor Representative began from his own interest in financial investing and was fueled by his desire to help others pursue their personal financial goals and objectives. Brian holds his Series 6 and 63 registrations through USA Financial Securities. Brian also holds his Series 65 and is licensed for Life, Accident and Health Insurance as well as Long Term Care.
Brian came to Shelton Financial Group with four years of financial services experience and 20+ years of management experience with an industrial printing firm. He attended IPFW for electrical engineering and is a graduate of Woodlan High School.
Outside of work, Brian participates in the Football Boosters Club at Woodlan High School, attends St Michael Catholic Church, and serves on the parish council. For several years, he volunteered with PAL Football Program in Fort Wayne and the Dekalb County 4-H Horse and Pony Club. Brian enjoys golfing, horseback riding and family time. He resides in Northeast Indiana near Harlan with his wife Amy.
Matt came to Shelton Financial Group in February 2017 with over 8 years of financial planning experience. He graduated from Indiana University (IPFW) with a B.A. in Business Finance and Management (2008). While working towards his degree, Matt was also captain of the Men’s golf team earning the Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar award in 2006. A strong desire to build long-lasting relationships with his clients and help them pursue their financial goals is what led Matt to Shelton Financial Group. In 2014, that desire also drove Matt to fulfill the requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Matt is Series 7 and 66 registered through USA Financial Securities Corp. Matt also holds his life and health insurance licenses. Outside of work, you will find Matt on the golf course or at home spending time with his family and friends. Matt has also participated in several Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana events and was part of the 2015 graduating class of the YLNI Leadership Institute. Matt lives in Fort Wayne with his wife, Brandy, and their two sons, Owen and Ethan.
Nathan came to Shelton Financial Group in June 2017 after earning a Finance degree from Taylor University in Upland, IN. He played on the varsity baseball team while at Taylor as well as served on the Student Managed Endowment team, which won a national competition for fixed income portfolio returns his senior year, earning the team a trip to the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. While in college, and prior to it, Nathan traveled oversees for a variety of mission trips to: Ghana, West Africa for leadership training, to Stellenbosch, South Africa for 2 months working in sports ministry, and to the Greek Island of Lesvos for nearly a month serving in a Syrian refugee camp. Ministry and missions are core values in his life. Nathan is Series 7 and 66 registered and is an Investment Advisor Representative with USA Financial. He also holds his life, health and long-term care insurance licenses. His area of focus is to help clients live their One Best Financial Life by completing a Retirement Lifestyle Plan. Outside of work, Nathan enjoys watching, playing and coaching a multitude of sports, especially those which include his younger siblings. Nathan’s other passion is working on his family’s farm, caring for a variety of livestock, including their herd of camels.
Amy joined SFG in 1997 as the first full-time employee, and has been an instrumental force in the long-term success of the organization. Amy works directly with clients to support the action items created during their planning meetings with the advisor. Amy will schedule appointments, manage client service requests, process paperwork and maintain client files for Jeff. She has a deep level of understanding regarding the processes and systems used by SFG to serve the client. Amy is series 6 and 63 securities registered, along with Life, Accident, Health, and Long Term Care insurance licensed. Outside of work, Amy passionately follows her children’s athletic and academic endeavors. She enjoys creating crafty projects and spending time with her “fancy cats”.
Jason has been with Shelton Financial Group for eleven years, serving as Chief Operations Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Financial Advisor over the years. He is now serving as Relationship Manager for Al Lindsten’s clients. Jason is a 6, 63, and 65 registered non-solicitor through USA Financial Securities. Jason has been actively involved in ministry at his church. He has a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and a masters from Winebrenner Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Jesse, have four children and live in Zanesville. Jason enjoys spending time camping with his family, gardening, and playing tennis.
Nicole has over six years’ experience in the financial services industry; her career focus areas are primarily in operations and the non-profit sector. Cumulatively, she has been with Shelton Financial Group for over four years. She currently assists Brian Nieuwlandt with his clients as a relationship manager. Previously, she served SFG as the Investment Operations Manager, where she oversaw cashiering, client account administration and assisted with trading. Nicole began her college career as a student athlete at Notre Dame College; she was a member of the women’s golf and softball teams. She finished her college experience at Purdue University (IPFW) with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and Supervision in 2010. Active in her community, Nicole is a volunteer with Junior Achievement, Junior League, and previously a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Nicole was chosen for the Active of the Year award (Junior League of Fort Wayne) and nominated for the Rising Star award (Association of Junior Leagues International). Nicole and her husband, Chris, have two children; they enjoy traveling, playing golf and spending time at the lake.
Dan is the Chief Operating Officer of Shelton Financial Group. He comes to the role having served six years as Shelton’s Director of SFG Asset Management where he oversaw custodian relationships, trading platforms and client account administration. Dan has more than 20 years of management experience including leadership roles in the investment, information technology and healthcare industries.
Susan is the Office Manager for Shelton Financial Group. Susan has more than 10 years of experience in the investment industry. She is a Series 7 and 63 registered non-solicitor of USA Financial Securities.
Barb is the receptionist for Shelton Financial Group. In many cases, she is the face and voice of SFG. She also serves as the Policy and Procedure Coordinator, overseeing new business processing. Barb also coordinates many of our marketing events.
Lindsay came to SFG in 2010 and currently assists Matt Fry and Nathan Shelton with their clients as a relationship manager. Previously, she served SFG providing administrative support to the SFG Relationship Managers. She is a vital part of the SFG Client Service team. Lindsay has her Series 6 & 63 licenses.
Amy joined Shelton Financial Group in the spring of 2015. She brings 20 years’ experience in the financial industry, primarily in the areas of accounting and customer service. Her principal roles with SFG focus on cashiering, review preparation and custodial relationship maintenance. Amy attained a BS in Economics and Business Management from Huntington University; additionally, she is licensed in Property and Casualty Insurance. In her free time, Amy enjoys outdoor activities, church and community involvement, and especially spending time with her husband and young adult children. She is an avid supporter of their athletic, artistic, and academic endeavors.
