JEFFREY A. SHELTON Jeff is the President of Shelton Financial Group INC., a Registered Investment Advisory Firm with the State of Indiana. In addition to his firm management responsibilities, Jeff serves in an Advisor capacity for his personal financial planning clients. He specializes in wealth management and retirement planning issues. Jeff has over 22 years of experience in the financial services industry. "To help my clients prepare for the certainty of uncertainty that is retirement." Since 1990, Jeff has been working with pre-retirees as well as retired clients to position their assets to most effectively allow them to enjoy their retirement years. "My mission is to help clients create, protect, and distribute their retirement nest egg," says Jeff. A popular seminar speaker, Jeff has spoken to thousands of investors during his 250+ speaking engagements over the last 22 years. His topics have included titles such as Financial Strategies to Success Retirement, Women and Investing, How to Protect Your Investments in a Turbulent Market, Retirement Planning for Seniors, among others. Jeff understands that investors are looking for someone they can trust, in addition to a planner that knows what to do to help them. This corresponds very well with his firm's core values of Professional, Knowledgeable, and Trustworthy. Much of Jeff's time outside of work is spent participating in his family's activities in and around his hometown of Zanesville, Indiana. He is active in the Zanesville United Methodist church, having served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Vice-Chair of the Administrative Council, and Chairman of the church's initial Capital Campaign. "My most rewarding opportunity at my church," Jeff says, "was serving as the Youth Director for seven years and continuing to be actively involved in our Upward Youth Sports Ministry." In and around his demanding work schedule, Jeff finds time to coach his own children's basketball, baseball, football, and soccer teams. Family First is more than a motto for Jeff. In addition to his local efforts, Jeff recently completed a three year commitment to conduct leadership training workshops in the West African country of Ghana. "Not only did this opportunity provide me the chance to help change our world," Jeff says, "but I also had the privilege of introducing my oldest child to overseas ministry. The sooner we realize that there are needs beyond our little world here in Zanesville, the sooner we'll try to assist those people. Helping our kids to see these needs has always been a goal for my wife and me." Jeff's hobbies include working in the family maple syrup operation, watching all types of sporting events (now that he is too old to compete), and coaching youth sports. Jeff's wife, Jill, elected to put her nursing career on hold so that she could be a full-time stay-at-home mom for their four children Nathan, Quinn, Maiah, and Cade - a decision Jeff says that clearly illustrated the concept of servant leadership. "I want to be viewed as a servant leader for my family, my friends, and my clients," says Jeff. "I am looked to for safety and security by all three groups, and I take that responsibility very seriously."
